Your Carriage Awaits

Paper Pumpkin is your go to creative moment each month. It's so easy to get a quick crafting fix since the projects are already thought out and instructions are provided. I think the July kit was my favorite to date. It came with supplies to make 6 cards and 6 boxes. The little boxes are so cute, and in Blackberry Bliss, one of my new favorite colors too!!

Wish Big refill kit - 136713 $7.95
Subscribers can purchase refills with the consumable supplies only, but there are also full kits available for select past Paper Pumpkin Kits. This kit comes with die cut adhesive backed paper letters spelling out "WISH" and after you use the letters you still have the remaining card stock piece. Look at this brilliant but simple idea using the negative part of the letters.
Designed by fellow demonstrator Vinnie C
So even if following directions isn't your thing, you can always put your own spin on the projects and make them original. Use a different stamp set, incorporate extra layers, etc...these kits are very versatile and since they are from Stampin' Up! you know you can match the colors easily. =)

Here's the latest video showing you how simple and easy these are to use and get BEAUTIFUL results:

Carrie used the Blended Bloom stamp in this video, which is a GREAT choice for using all three shades on the large petals. It gives you the ability to see the shades blended and really try them out.

Catalog Premiere 2014

So last night was a first. Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the US gathered at movie theaters for a special unveiling of the new 2014-2015 annual catalog. I went with my downline/sister and we made our attempt to be red carpet worthy. I even took my first "bathroom selfie" after getting ready for the evening. My husband thinks we are crazy. lol But it wasn't simply a tour of the catalog on the big screen...although we would have loved that too. =)

It was truly an event Stampin' Up! style. Shelli Gardner, CEO and many of the employees we've come to love and appreciate over the years were broadcast live from California and they took the stage to show us some wonderful things they created with these new items! Shannon West got things started showing us a versatile stamp set that you really need to see in action to appreciate. One of the images can be seen in the top right on the catalog cover! Then Brian Pilling joined her on stage and the two of them had us giggling like usual. I regret that I was too caught up watching and didn't get any photos. Shannon was stunning in her dress!

Next up was Carrie Cudney, also looking very beautiful. She showed us the easiest way to put your stamp pad back together if the lid becomes separated from the ink pad. She made it look very easy and challenged Brian to see how many times they could take them apart and put them back together...Carrie won! lol

We were then wowed by Bonnie Thurber. She told us about her engagement and showed off her gorgeous ring before she began to stamp for us. And last up was Donna Griffith, who taunted us with more and more wonderful things.

Here are some photos of the various cards and things they shared with us last night...

Easy card, perfect for anyone

It wasn't until the event was over that they gave us our own copy. I am super excited about the things inside, and look forward to sharing pretty samples with you as soon as I get my preorder of stamps and goodies. I did get a new stamp set as well last night, but alas, I cannot show it to you...yet! =)

Aside from the slant on the sentiment, this is how the card was shown in the instructions.
I added a little piece of Baker's Twine and tied a bow!

A Golden Birthday

Today is my oldest daughter's birthday. It's the 17th and she's 17, that makes this her GOLDEN birthday!! She had several friends over to celebrate on Saturday, and I had gold everywhere! I wish I had taken more photos, but this is a small sampling of how the dinning room table was set. She had snack chips, grapes, and lots of candies wrapped in gold set out for their enjoyment! I also added some shamrock garland and gold bead necklaces, but being the easily distracted dork that I am I didn't get another picture after the full set up was complete.

While I decorated her cake I asked my husband to help out by making a "17" that we could mount on card stock and set on an easel, he did one better! He also printed out little miniature ones that we hung from streamers around the house, and before the night was over her friends were coveting them...we ended up putting them on jump rings and hanging them on both gold and green beaded necklaces! They looked like they were attending a convention. lol

It was a great party with just a few of her closest friends, I love my "G" dearly and hope she is still feeling special today at school. I gave her a one of a kind t-shirt for her birthday that she's wearing. It says "Lucky Today" on the front and has "17" in gold numbers on the back!

She didn't want me to take her picture this morning - sigh, but little sister was happy to smile!
I look forward to scrapping a special page or two with the party pictures soon, but to celebrate my "baby" here are some pages from the archives that I can share...

Happy St Patrick's Day!!
